Emily at Animal Hospital of Newport Hills

Emily is from North Bend, WA, was born with a natural love and connection for animals. As a vet assistant, she is very passionate and dedicated to not only helping to cure, but also maintaining the health of the pets that come in to our clinic every day. Her thirst for knowledge to learn more about helping animals is unquenchable and tries hard to absorb all the information she can. Emily handles each and every animal with the care and love they would get from their owners. Although, she spends most of her free time watching sad animal rescue videos, it does not discourage her - it only makes her passion for animals stronger. She also enjoys advocating for animals in shelters to get adopted to loving families, as she cannot adopt them all. And finally, at the end of the day she comes home to her sweet and playful cat, Pancake.

Sam G.

Sam G. at Animal Hospital of Newport Hills

Sam G., or "Little Sam," has been working at the hospital since 2013, and she loves it! Sam started working as a kennel technician, and moved her way up to veterinary assistant in 2015. She has always been fascinated with animals, and has had pets her entire life. When she was 3, she would play "doctor" with her golden retriever, and her grandma's cat. Sam's love for animals didn't stop there, and throughout her life she was fascinated with all kinds of animals. Sam has owned dogs, cats, rabbits, a squirrel, hamsters, a bird, and a lot of fish.

Sam's favorite part of her job is seeing her patients feeling better. Sam thinks it's really wonderful watching a pet walk through the door feeling great, and knowing that she had an impact in their life.

Sam also enjoys decorating casts! She will often put little designs on patients' casts before they leave the hospital. Sam finds that this cheers many people up, and makes a sad and stressful situation a little better!

Sam is currently attending Bellevue College to get her associates, and I will be transferring to Washington State University for her bachelors. Sam would love to be a veterinarian. Working with staff who truly have a passion for animals has helped her decide what she wants to do with her life.

In her my free time, Sam likes to hike with our hospital dog, Gotti. Gotti and Sam have hiked up Poo Poo Point twice now, and around Lake Boren. They always have a blast together!

Sam currently has 4 pets in her home. Her dog, Coco, is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is 9 years old, and has infrequent seizures and separation anxiety. Living with a dog that has really helped her understand where clients are coming from, because she can relate! Sam also has a cat named Malu, and she is 11. Malu is a rescue cat, and spends most of her time in her "kitty hammock". Lastly, Sam has 2 hamsters named Nibbles and Chocolate Chip. She often bring Nibbles with her to work, so if you would like to see him, let Sam know! Nibbles just lost his brother, and gets pretty lonely, so Sam likes to bring him in so he can get some extra attention!

Simeon has been with the hospital since 2009. He loves dogs and “babysits” his brother’s 2 English bulldogs regularly. He would like to get a bulldog of his own someday. His hobbies include playing basketball and going to Florida as often as he can to watch the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.
